Is this the same as command line dig or nslookup?

It covers common DNS lookup needs through DNS-over-HTTPS. Advanced resolver debugging may still require dig, nslookup, or authoritative server checks.

Does it show WHOIS data?

It uses RDAP, the modern structured successor to WHOIS, when the domain registry provides public registration data.

Why do DNS results differ between tools?

DNS caching, resolver location, TTL, split-horizon DNS, and recent record changes can cause temporary differences.
